We participate in the Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Award program at Blair Mill Elementary. The boys and girls in grades K, 1, and 2 enjoy listening to the nominated stories during library classes. Then each student votes for his / her favorite book. The number of votes each title earned in our school is submitted to the Pennsylvania Librarians Association. Finally, we wait to hear which book had the most votes across the state, and won the award. This activity provides our students with opportunities to read current quality literature by authors and illustrators of interest. It also exposes them to award winning literature. The books that have been nominated to receive the Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Award in 2018 are highlighted on this page.
